BASEC Training, owned and managed by Johan Fourie, is a highly specialised training company that offers advanced tactical and operational training. We customise and tailor our courses to suit the needs of the security and private industries, both in South Africa and internationally.

Johan Fourie, the founder and CEO of BASEC, is a former member of the South African Police Service Special Task Force. He served in this elite unit for nearly 12 years, specialising in areas like Hostage Rescue, Rural and Urban Operations, Executive Protection, Emergency Diving, and Advanced Driving. Johan also gained valuable experience overseas, working as a Personal Security Detail (PSD) Operator in Iraq.

Today, Johan focuses full-time on training, sharing his knowledge and expertise built through years of hands-on experience, both locally and internationally. He is a registered Assessor and Moderator, holding certifications from SASSETA, PSIRA, and PFTC.

At BASEC, additional freelance instructors occasionally join the team under agreements to help deliver specialised training, ensuring we always meet the highest standards.
